Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce
The region of the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce covers two provinces that include together 30 municipalities. With over one thousand members Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce includes all the leading companies in the region and works seamlessly with the actors and the stakeholder groups in the region. Its members employ about 70 % of the workforce in the region. Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce is a private chamber meaning that the membership is on voluntary basisand the chamber does not receive public support; its operations are financed through membership and service fees. The number of employees is altogether eight in three offices. The offices are located in towns Jakobstad, Kokkola and Vaasa.
The mission of the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce is to promote industry and commerce in Ostrobothnia region. Its task is to protect the business community's interests and to attend important meetings on behalf of the members. Another important task for the chamber is to create a network between the region's companies and to extend them to the rest of the society and farther out into the world. The chamber organizes also training for the workforce of the companies, offers services like certificates and foreign trade documents, and carries out and takes part in projects it finds good for the region and the companies in the region.
