Who we are

Founded in 1917, the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce is one of Finland’s oldest and largest chambers, representing over 1,000 members across a diverse range of industries, including trade, services, education, and manufacturing. Unlike in many other countries, chamber of commerce membership in Finland is voluntary.

Approximately 70 percent of the employees in the area work for the Chamber’s member organizations. The Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce is close to the businesses in the region, as we have offices in Kokkola, Jakobstad, and Vaasa. We are a key player in advocating for business-friendly policies, fostering regional economic growth, and providing valuable services that help businesses thrive.

Advocating for Business Growth
We are dedicated to representing our members’ interests, by actively engaging with policymakers, local authorities, and other key stakeholders. Our goal is to foster a business-friendly environment where companies can grow, succeed, and contribute to the overall economic vitality of the Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia regions.

Member Services
The Chamber of Commerce offers a wide range of services to support business growth, including training opportunities (in Finnish and Swedish languages), networking events, and resources for international trade. We also provide expert advice on tax issues and employment terms, available in both Swedish and Finnish. Our goal is to equip our members with the tools they need to enhance their competitiveness, expand into new markets, and navigate the complexities of the business world.

Fostering Collaboration and Networking
As the leading business organization in the region, the Chamber of Commerce fosters meaningful collaboration between companies, industry leaders, and key stakeholders. Our strong network connects businesses with potential partners and suppliers, creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.

By combining advocacy, expert services, and extensive networking, the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce continues to drive business success and economic progress across Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia, fostering a thriving business environment.
