The Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce awards the Digi Project of the Year prize every spring. The award is given to the most meritorious or significant digitalization-related development or research project between students and one or more companies. The proposed work can, for example, be a project assignment, a thesis, or work related to a doctoral dissertation. The collaborative project may, for example, aim to increase efficiency in a company’s operations, create a new digital business activity, provide a competitive advantage to a company by using digital tools, tackle workforce shortage, or enhance knowledge among students. Or the proposed project to be awarded can be related to a business initiative started by a student.
The purpose of the Digi Project of the Year competition is to provide students with the opportunity to collaborate with companies and inspire companies to benefit from partnerships with educational institutions. The competition also raises awareness of and promotes the popularity of the ICT industry and digitalization within the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce’s area.
The Digi Project of the Year is selected by the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce’s Digitalization Committee. Winners are awarded diplomas and receive visibility in the chamber’s own media and possibly in other regional media outlets as well.
